But playing the Superbowl in warmer or indoor climates has never really been about competitive neutrality has it? It's been about everything else but the game, from appeasing the casual fan rich guys who can actually afford to buy a ticket to putting on massive pyrotechnical halftime shows (can you imagine what a chilly breeze would have done to The Who's arthritis?) One of the great things about our game is that it can be, and is, played in such a multitude of climates, and yet that variable hasn't been a part of the championship game in decades, for reasons that I contend have very little to do with football.
