Revenue is by far the better measure, it shows what the fans are willing to pay to consume the product. The price of the ticket is going to change based on the demand for the seats, the supply of the seats, and the supply of the games. It says something that MLB is able to sell the tickets they do to 162 games, it shows demand for the product is higher than the NBA. Because if demand for the NBA's product were higher, they'd either build bigger arenas or raise the ticket prices to generate more revenue.

It is business after all. Supply & demand drives everything, the revenue generated is ultimately supported by fan interest.

Dude the MLB almost plays two seasons worth of NBA basketball in one season. That is a huge gap.
