At least one football talking head has said that this sort of thing happens all the time and that should he show up it will all be water under the bridge (I think this particular talking head mentioned Strahan's hold out as an example). Besides I'm sure the attention will shift to players that are planning to continue their hold out into the season (I think Vincent Jackson is one of them, I could be wrong).

Personally, I think he'll be damaging his career (further) if he holds out during training camp and into the season. Honestly, at this point I don't care what he does or what is said about him now, because as someone has said he just need to show up for training camp and get to work.
