Letting Davis go was a good move. First, Davis was set to have a $9.5 million cap figure when he was released. Second, Davis didn't fit Spurrier's scheme. Third, Davis was old. Fourth, the guy isn't exactly durable - he spent basically all of last season and his latest injury has been deemed career threatening.

Old ok. Cap hit, ok injured last season, yeah! But wait, didn't Stephen Davis help the Panthers get to the superbowl? As a matter of fact he did. And you cannot tellme that he wasn't a factor on their offense. Did you see how bad there running game was this year without him, and even worse when they lost Foster?
