well one comment that I've heard about them was the planting itself.. but they mentioned a cutting crew

so I imagine it goes something like this.. since it's likely seeded by machine they plant a full field and already have stakes and ropes plotted out shortly after planting the field to cut along.. somewhere between the point of the corn starting to come up till it's too high to see over on the cutting device they cut along/in between the ropes.. low-tech I guess they could either just measure everything out and make sure they do it correctly.. a lil higher tech they could actually survey the land and along with the CAD-plot get precise gps locations for each stake location

now the plotting itself interests me.. they can probably CAD a design, but you still have to get your angles/measurements, etc correct.. they can do it for you (they call it a cutting crew.. I, I just died on your farm tonight, nevermind me) or they can send you the instructions for it
