re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Multiple reports close to the Raiders suggest that Cable could have been out today had they lost. They completely switched up their offensive line, moving their center to left tackle to try and fix their terrible OL problem. It didn't work. Next desperation move: quarterback change.
Things were more efficient with Gradkowski in the game. Oakland stopped trying to run so many deep routes and just put the ball in the hands of Murphy and Heyward Bey with timing patterns, letting them do things after the catch. Gradkowski has timing down with those guys, whereas Oakland is clearly trying to make Campbell throw it aggressively down the middle of the field without protection.
In the context of winning the game, the halftime adjustments were exactly what they needed. Gradkowski played better than Campbell. But ultimately, Gradkowski nearly threw the game away in the final six minutes with a boneheaded interception, and while he plays as hard as any in the NFL, he's just not an NFL quarterback.
