Re: Yogi Berra on the Washington Redskins...

There are certainly holes on the defensive side of the ball. The secondary seems to be on a "bend, don't break" policy, and they almost broke against Dallas and certainly broke to the tune of 497 yards yesterday. The Texans top 3 WRs (Johnson, Walter, Jones) amassed 29 catches for 355 yards and 3 TDs. There is no doubt the Texans have the firepower, but 500 yards is embarrassing. The front seven were putting pressure on Schaub all afternoon (5 sacks and numerous hurries and knock downs), but there were other times where they bit hard on play action and the secondary could not make up for it. Rogers may have gotten his first pick since December 08, but play needs to be stepped up among him, Hall and Buchanon. Doughty got picked on all afternoon, and when Landry came out in OT, Schaub went right after Horton. If the Skins get in these shootouts all year, it won't bode well for Haslett.

The run offense was atrocious yesterday. Pass blocking has been very good so far, but the run blocking isn't opening any holes. Larry Johnson running backwards didn't help, but if there are no holes to run through, the RBs will struggle. Glad to hear Silverback's knee isn't blown out because Heyer is garbage. I expect Shanny to make adjustments, and am very glad (if not a bit concerned to play down to level) to see the Rams next week.
