I think it would be a waste to draft Merriman for the simple fact that he's undersized and could not be used as a full time DE. As a full time OLB, who's spot is he going to take? His mentor, Lavar Arrington's or Pro Bowler Marcus Washington's? The guy we take in ther 1st round has to contribute more than that. I do like the idea of help on the DL. How about Shaun Cody or Matt Roth as a late 1st rounder?  |
I am not all for drafting a DE, but Merriman is going to be a force in the NFL, he's not undersized anymore his combine weight was 273lbs., and at 6'4" that's a nice sized defensive end, and with his body type he could still add more weight without losing much speed and agility, he's defiently an end, I will tell you what I don't want to see him in Dallas under Parcell's that would spell a lot of problem's for our QB, and I believe that is exactly where he is going to winde up at the 11th pick.
