OK. Now let's look at receivers taken in the top 10 in the last ten drafts:
2009: Darius Heyward Bey (
Bust), Michael Crabtree (jury still out)
2008: None
2007: Calvin Johnson (
Stud), Ted Ginn (
Bust)
2006: None
2005: Braylon Edwards (Decent), Troy Williamson (
Bust), Mike Williams (
Bust)
2004: Larry Fitzgerald (
Stud), Roy Williams (Decent), Reggie Williams (
Mild Bust)
2003: Charles Rogers (
Bust), Andre Johnson (
Stud)
2002: None
2001: David Terrell (
Bust), Koren Robinson (
Bust)
2000: Peter Warrick (
Bust), Plaxico Burress (
Stud), Travis Taylor (
Bust)
I see A LOT more red in that list than green, which has been my point that drafting WRs high is extremely risky business. I would prefer the Skins to invest high draft choices on the lines and on LBs to fit the 3-4. Address WR with a
proven commodity via trade or free agency.
