I guess that means Dan Marino was overrated as well, as he never got his ring, and you're saying Manning's lone ring was because of Crocodile Dungee's defense. The Colts D was ranked 21st in 2006. The offense was ranked 3rd, scoring the 2nd most points in the league that year. Yes, defenses win championships, and the Colts D got hot at the right time that year, but to discredit Manning completely is ignorant.
In Manning's 12 year career, there have been 3 years where the Colts offense wasn't in the top 7 in overall points and yardage. And only 2 years that the Colts didn't win 10 or more games.
Your equal or better skills and leadership attributes line is intriguing. Please, do tell us who is equal or better than Peyton. According to Pro Football Reference, at this point in his career, Manning's career is closely aligned with guys named Unitas, Montana, Marino, Elway, Kelly and Favre. Pretty damn good company if you ask me...
