Re: Mel Kipers Latest mock

What will be interesting to see is if the Skins can trade down and still get who they want. Most mocks I've seen are all over the place on the D-linemen. If they want Merriman, they can probably get him at #9. If they are satisfied with one of the other DEs, they can probably trade down and still get a good one.

For example, this updated draft has guys like Cody, Pollack, James, the other Cody, and Roth all going between 18-29......any one of which would be an upgrade at DE IMO. If they are willing to settle for one of those guys, they could easily trade down and acquire a 2nd rounder and pick up a decent WR (this draft is one of the deepest at WR ever.......15 expected to go on day 1). Then you've got a 3rd rounder for a CB, or to add depth to the O-line or TE if no good CB options are left.

I think right now that's what I'm hoping for. Trade down, get a good (but not the best) DE, pick up a 2nd round WR, and take the best available from there. By tomorrow this time I'll probably have changed my mind 3 times, but that's what I'm going with for now.
