Re: Clinton Portis wants a pay raise???
Portis has my respect for the stats he accumulated here and what he brought on the field, before his downfall. I never liked his attitude or his tendency to throw everyone under the bus, but when he was healthy, he was a baller.
He is at the end of his career. While only 30, he has suffered major injuries each of the last few seasons, and no matter how he says it was just a "fluke", the reality is that his body has broken down. He is no longer an elite runner, doesnt have the breakaway speed anymore, and can't shed tackles.
I dont think he will be here next year, but i think whatever team that signs him will give him something like an incentive based, 1 year contract as a backup/ 3rd down back, to see what he still has left. Unfortunatley for CP, that isn't very much.
