Not really...many defensive players get in without a SB ring. I think that "requirement" really gets pinned on QBs mainly.
Just look at the last 3 years, defensive players without a championship:
Andre Tippett
Bruce Smith
Rickey Jackson
John Randle
Derrick Thomas
Dick LeBeau
Yeah there are some major names on that list, but Fletcher has some of them beat I think.
Fletcher has one already though, then a long, consistently great career...plus that games played streak.
