It's God's school. Every good Catholic kid who likes football dreams of playing for ND. 
Great tradition, great alumni network, great academics, great coach, Independent network deal, at the top of most loved & most hated school in college football = great interest/ratings. Weather sucks, but outside of that what's not to like.
