We offered Smoot a "decent contract". We offered him a very fair contract actually, but he got more $$$ elsewhere. For once we didn't overpay somebody.

As for Rock being "overhyped": Huh? Since when has Rock ever been hyped at all? I don't understand what possible problem you could have with re-signing a long time skin who has been a solid special teams player and gives us some depth at RB/FB. It's not like the guy is going to get a $5 million signing bonus or something. We've gotten everything we could have asked for out of a 6th round draft pick and then some over the years, so what's the problem here?
