The WAY she sang the Anthem was disrespectful, just as much as not knowing the words. It's meant to be sung the way it was written, not mutilated into a pop song to bring attention on yourself. It's a reverent song, not meant for entertainment.

Sing it properly and if you have to sing it publicly, MEMORIZE THE WORDS. She has been singing it since she was a kid in the Mickey Mouse Club and it a professional singer (even though she's a horrible one). There are no excuses for her botching the words.
I will not say she was disrespectful because I think in her mind she was trying to do her best but went way way way over board. I'll also give her a pass on the words because she was trying so hard to hit all those notes she lost her place in the song. It happens but should not happen on that big of a stage. I'd really like to hear her opinion of how she thinks it sounded.
