Re: Anyone collect military surplus stuff?

My mosin is my favorite rifle of all. My dad got it for me for my 25th birthday. It came with all of the original tools, oil can, sling, and it has a working bayonet.

The one i got had never been fired. Rifle is very accurate, I am able to fire 1" groups at 100 yards. Scope needs fine tuning i think, at about 250 yards it seems hit or miss sometimes. Do yourself a big favor and buy the american made, non-corrosive ammo. The old russian surp is very cheap and very available, but it makes cleanup messy. I've shot about 100 rounds of the non-corrosive type, and the inside stays fairly clean. The difference to me was night and day.
