Not to mention that signing Rogers would be yet ANOTHER player on the wrong side of 30 that Washington would sign. What happened to all the folks screaming for a "youth movement" in D.C.? What happened to the folks screaming "Build through the draft"?
The good news is, once a CBA is in place he should come cheap, I mean he only started in ONE game all last season.
And did the judge give him permission to leave the state of Ohio? There is a little matter of Rogers carrying a loaded handgun through security at Clevelands Int'l Airport.
Rogers was good in his prime, but that time has passed. He will never be even half the player he used to be.

That is not true.
It is true that no one can sign FA's whose contracts lapse and who change years of service with the theoretical league new year. It appears there will be many of these FA's once a new CBA is arranged.
But players who have been cut, rather than having their contracts lapse, and who have enough years of service immediately become unrestricted free agents and anyone can sign them. Whether it is wise to sign them is a separate issue.
