Because Denver was actively shopping and had a few interested. Better to assure ourselves the pick (which I feel will probably be used to trade up w/ Gardner or for a vet.)

I agree - I didn't like the trade for the 25 to begin with, but trading up for Edwards is RIDICULOUS! We could probably trade 9 and Gardner and trade with MN, AZ, or Tampa.
The talk about this years draft being weak is kind of misleading. Though, as a whole, the draft is weak. Two positions that we're really lacking in (WR and CB) are there and the talent runs deep. Granted there aren't any big stars at many positions. CB and WR are two positions where two first round picks could get you some very good players!
