The Seymour contract does a really good job of protecting the Raiders against deadcap. However, it is hard for me to see him being an effective player in 2012 considering he's already questionably effective as is. It's not a terrible deal, but it doesn't improve the Raiders chances of winning much if any over just letting him walk. And thats a lot of (shared revenue) money spent.
Oakland's big deal is that they were really ridiculously healthy in 2010. The team is on the rise, but even an average amount of injuries would put another .500 season as their ceiling for 2011.
