If the staff feels like those guys are at least good stop-gap measures that can play a lot, they might not draft D early.
You could make the same argument in reverse: Armstrong might develop into a more complete WR, Kelly might finally get healthy, and Austin will start to "get it," so that WR is not as acute a need as some people think.

IMO last year's draft was heavy on offense and the defense finished #31 so I am hoping for a defense-oriented draft.
