Well in Andy Reid's system he'd never get enough touches to even come close to 1100 yards, given that McCoy would be the unquestioned starter and Reid simply doesn't run that much in the first place.
But speaking in broader terms, I don't think Portis has done enough over the course of his career to keep himself in prime physical condition. The only backs who make it past 30 are the ones who work out like warriors and eat right. E Smith, T Jones, these guys had longevity because of their habits. Portis is headed downhill in a hurry because he's never had the work ethic.
If Portis gets you 1100 and 8 TDs, you will have had a losing season, I promise. Because that would mean he's your best option, and it would mean you had to give him 300 carries just to get those 1100 yards. He doesn't have the speed needed to average more than 4 yards per carry anymore.
