I don't see us making deep playoff appearances with him or anything, but I think he can be a stabilizing force at the quarterback position for a few years, with a couple surprising runs here and there. He might not be elite, but he'll at least be stable.

On what do you base these opinions? The guy hasn't thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2007! He has thrown exactly
one TD in his entire four-year NFL career. I cannot see a single reason, other than blind faith in Shanny, for you to conclude that Beck can stabilize our QB position.
