When a team has a very high payroll, and makes big offseason moves every year, yet fails to improve, they will receive a great deal of criticism. That's not bias, it's journalism.
However, when the criticism precedes the performance, that's bias. When reporters (and not columnists, who are hired to opine) give the "same old Redskins" quotes without fully analysing the moves they are condemning, that's bias. Even a pattern of poor decisions (as many have concluded the Redskins have made) doesn't justify the level of scrutiny and derision we have piled on us every year.
By the way, using "
opine" and "
derision" in the same post means I win something, right?
