The way it was explained to me by my family's lawyer is as long as I'm not profiting from the videos I'm protected under fair use and so far I haven't made a penny. Either way the NFL will try to shut down the YouTube account first before anything else, assuming they try anything, but so far I haven't even been given so much of a request or warning.
The NFL already lost a case where a professor posted the video of the NFL copyright claim on YouTube for her class as an example of a non-enforceable policy that violates US Law. The NFL sent a DMCA notice or what not, she took them to court, where the NFL lost, and the video remains on YouTube to this day.
Also keep in mind that theres still full games available on YouTube (Redskins-Texans has been posted since September). However if the NFL comes knocking I'll deal with it then, most likely with the videos being taken down for good. Just thought I should give a heads up that they may not be up forever.
Either way I certainly won't try anything that will put the warpath in danger.
So if even unlisted is enough to raise a fuss I won't do it.
Just in case it got lost in this TL;DR post: The NFL has not put in a copyright claim or anything to my videos, nor have they even tried. I just wanted to bring up the fact that it might be possible and something I have to deal with in the future. Hopefully it will never come to that.
