Negotiate the terms of your contract for a shorter period than they say it will be for signing up for or upgrading any service. And call when your contract is about to expire. Definitely call them up! I have three months free of the movie channels and will be calling them up to cancel them. I don't really watching them THAT much anyway, but the last time I did that, they did give me another three months free for them.
