Re: F Hurricanes...not the football team (but f them too)

we didnt lose power, which was a nice surprise but im alil disappointed as we were ready with ice, cooler, flashlights, lantern, candles, all electronics power charged. did see a huge tree limb fall in the middle of the street. about the size of a decent size tree. about a half hour later a guy in his truck came down the road attempted to run over it at one end (where the limb had split off), backed up and smartly decided to drive over the tail end of the branches.

had my storm drain cloggin out back so when we got home around 5 pm, there was about a foot of water with the rain coming down hard. took off the cover and tried to unclog it with a clothes hanger but that didnt work. i was desperate so i stuck my hand down there which just barely fit, acting like a lil girl i thought i felt something bite me and yanked my hand out and had cuts all over. i manned up and spent the next 30 mins slowly pulling small handfuls of dirts n peddles out but it was still clogged.

so for the next 12 hours i had to go down there with a bucket and clear the water out. sucked when it got to around 2 am as i was tired and had to set my alarm every hour. luckily only about 2 sq ft of drywall got warped.

sat morning before the storm i went to home depot and there were a ton of people buying generators. i walked back to my car without any D batterries and this lady had this huge generator on a heavy duty cart. i asked if she needed help and she gave a reluctant yes as if she was scared or something. she went to go put down the seats leaving her wallet right on top of the generator box at the end of her suv where i was standing. i stepped back as i didnt want her to get more scared. i asked her how much she paid, took her a few seconds and she said very quietly $900. so we got the generator in the back of her suv and she didnt even say thank you. i get it, i was rednecked out that morning and had whiskey breath and shot eyes from the night before but dang lady . . . atleast say thank you.

anyways, just waiting and watching my hand to see if it turns green and i get some type of hepatitis from cutting up my hand in an outside city storm drain.
