Re: Who do you want to start at QB?

^^ Beck had a bad night and that is worrisome. I don't think either guy, however, clearly outplayed the other. Grossman looked less than stellar himself a few times this preseason. I have no doubt that, if Grossman had clearly beaten Beck, Grossman is the starter. Unlike you, I just don't see Grossman as the clearly "better player" right now.

Sorry, I don't see a "sham QB battle" here. Sure, Shanny likes Beck and it really seems to be his job to lose - but Grossman didn't really do enough to show any clear advantage over Beck. He too was inconsistent, made bad decisions, etc. They are pretty much neck and neck and in this case, tie goes to Beck. If I'm on the team and Beck is named starter, I'm good with that; if it's Grossman, I'm good with that also. Bottom line, we've seen Grossman over the course of a season - he's simply not a world beater. He's good to have around and to be able step in if Beck can't translate the things he [Beck] has done well in preseason into game day during regular season.

As for the new culture, every report I have read says the players feel like Shanahan gives every player a fair shot. I don't remember the report, but I do remember it saying that even players who lost competitions felt Shanny gave them a fair shot to take a spot.
