OK, so they go and draft one - - but the question will still remain:
Is this guy going to be ready to start on Day One of the 2012 season? So, they could well go into Free Agency to find a guy who has been around for a while to use as a "mentor" or a "stopgap" or at the very least as a credible back-up QB in the event that the draftee gets his bell rung.
Keep an ear to the ground to try and figure out which NFL free agent might be coming here next March as the guy who will be standing next to the Draft Day Hero that the Skins select.

The Redskins did try to get Leinart after the lockout. If Mike Shanahan thinks that John Beck is in developmental mode, and he's the QB of the future, then he needs to have his head examined. Given the injuries on offense, I'm not taking anything away from Beck. I just doubt that he's the answer at QB. If Allen and Shanahan doesn't realize this, then the Redskins will be doomed to be disastrous in 2012. We need to draft Griffin III, L. Jones, or Matt Barkley with our first pick.
