This will be the 3rd year in a row where these clowns were unable to land a franchise QB. I know my vitriol is premature but Cleveland has more to offer than we do. I even went to numerous Cleveland Browns forums and their fans are clamoring for him. Not saying the fans will dictate who Holmgren drafts but will most certainly have some degree of influence once the local media pressure kicks in to high gear.

PROJECTED TRADE: Several teams are going to try and move up to get Griffin but the Browns have the most ammo -- the fourth overall pick and a late first-rounder or high picks in later rounds. Cleveland needs Griffin -- and wants him, according to league sources -- and the Rams will still get their man.

Mock Drafts 2012: Richardson could slip to Bengals at No. 17

I vehemently disagree with your post. Shanahan is the first coach in a long time that's coming in here and rebuilding this franchise the right way. Of course there were some misses, but there isn't a single organization that doesn't make mistakes. I remember this board clamoring when McNabb was brought in and the move heavily praised by fans.

Shannahan stated that his focus was on the defense and switching a 4-3 to a 3-4. Our defense went from 31st last season to 13th this season. If we improve our secondary I see this defense being formidble for many years to come. Especially as the players continue to understand the 3-4 and we get players built for the type of scheme we're running.

In addition, Shanahan throughout his career has had succesful offenses. I think we see an emphasis on building a potent offense in DC and I have no doubt he is capable of doing that. He didn't get fired in Denver because his offense wasn't producing. His defense was absolutely pathetic.

It takes time to rebuild a team. While Griffin is a great prospect, he isn't a sure thing. Can you imagine giving up 4-6 fairly high picks for a player and not have him pan out? I can imagine it now. Fans and media crucifying Shanahan for such a 'stupid move.' If going up to get RGIII is affordable, then I'm all for it -- but if it will cost the farm, stay put or move back and continue to build the entire team.

As I said in another thread. I could see us going after an FA QB such as Flynn. Blackmon or Floyd (hopefully Blackmon) in the 1st, then Foles/Tannehill in the 2nd. I want to see Washington build a perrenial winner. I'm fine taking some lumps in order to get both a scheme and young personnel established.

took the 31st ranked defense to the 13th ranked defense
