If the Skins are eyeing D'Angelo Hall, and can obtain a pick high enough to grab him by trading Smoot and Trotter, then that might be a move worth making, as Smoot will certainly be looking for big bucks next year. Hall is the only rookie corner I would feel comfortable with as a replacement for Smoot-- maybe Dunta Robinson. Is there hope that Smoot will be a redskin next season??? I think he is a true skin, a vocal leader, tough player (played through multple injuires), and a fan favorite, he even signed with rosenhouse (spelling?) I believe making it seem that he wants to stay here.
