Browns focusing on five in the first round | ProFootballTalk

The biggest takeaway from this: that the Browns can get someone from that group for certain if they trade down from 4 to 6.

The Dolphins remain a wild card pending free agency, but I still think Griffin will be there at no. 4, and I doubt that the Dolphins can put together an offer that beats the Redskins offer if the Browns really want someone on that short list.
Personally I think not.

Christian Ponder Could Be Odd Man Out for Vikings

Quote:
Last week, the rumors that Minnesota would entertain drafting Luck or Griffin, got some credibility, as Vikings GM Rick Spielman acknowledged it would be under consideration. To that I say, why wouldn’t it be? Sure it’s not what Christian Ponder wants to hear, but beyond that, the Vikings are stupid to not weigh all their options.

Many Vikings fans want to draft Justin Blackmon, which would give Ponder a clear number one option for years to come. This is definitely a realistic option, and should be under equal consideration. However, the most important position in the NFL is quarterback. Elite QB’s don’t just come around every year. The Vikings have a chance that presents itself to a franchise, maybe once every fifteen years
Report: Browns will try to draft RG3

Quote:
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, there’s a really good chance that the Browns will attempt to trade up for the second overall pick in April’s draft, in order to get Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.
“If the Browns determine at the Combine next week and maybe through one or two more visits that RGIII is their man, I don’t think they would hesitate to give up their No. 4 and their No. 22 to pull off this deal,” said Cabot. “… It’s almost a perfect match. I think at this point it’s very likely that could happen.”
The Browns will of course have to outbid the Washington Redskins for the second pick, since they’ve also been mentioned as team that’s looking to trade up for RGIII.. There’s no question though that the Browns have a lot more ammunition then the Redskins to make the trade happen.
I'm just saying as I've said in the past don't think just because we want RGIII that no one else will attempt to get him. Don't think that because each team above us from 1-5 has other needs besides QB ... don't think they are not thinking the same way you guys are ... that RGIII " solves our QB situation for the next 10+ years". I just have not seen that the Rams, Vikes, or Browns are satisfied with their QB situation and won't draft a QB. Yes they have several options to think about but if their coaching staff believes as some fans here do that RGIII is a once in a life time type of QB then expect them to make a run at drafting him also.

I just don't see the Skins being able to pick up RGIII and don't see him falling to them at #6. Trade back pick up more picks get the next best QB and WR to make a duo for the future.
