Re: What is the 2nd overall pick worth?
This years 1st, next years 1st and 2nd, and as many 4th rounders as they want. I don't count on 4th rounders to even make the team, but they are probably depth if they do. We have depth quality players, we need stars, particularly a star qb. 1st and 2nd rounders ideally are starters, but there is a fair chance that we would whiff on one of those next year, not because we suck, just because it happens and we might be due. So in this package, chances are we'd be giving up one future starter, which we can make up for in FA.
Furthermore, I'd consider spending a 1st or 2nd on a mediocre qb akin to giving up a starter and setting us back 3-4 years.
This all makes sense only if RG3 is the real deal, and I believe 100% that he is. In addition to being a world class athlete, he is brilliant, and a leader, which is something you cant put a price on. He'd make the whole team play with more confidence.
I don't know who the Giants lost out on to trade up for Eli, but they've got two rings with him, while we've been sitting at home nearly every January.
