My comments were in response to a comment that made it sound like we were over the cap and desperately needed to restructure a whole bunch of contracts to get under the cap.
Now, Cooley has had injuries that have affected his play, hopefully he's healthy and can go back to his old self. He's 29, will be 30 by the time the season starts, so it is not like we are talking about some over the hill guy. While yes, I am sure the team would like if he restructured and it may happen, however, I personally don't think is a must situation.
It's funny though, when a player gets a bit older and the team wants to move on from them, we praise the teams for making a sound business decision. Yet when a player who outperforms his contract and wants to get more money, we say "shut up and just play ball".
