That's just the thing though. We're not getting a great QB. We're getting a great QB prospect. And a prospect needs his teammates to pick up some of the slack early in his career so he can pay it back on the back end.

To be clear, by the time we're talking about Griffin carrying us, you're talking 2016, 2017, 2018. Only one QB drafted by the Redskins since the merger made it that far into his career before being forced out of town.

In the mean time, what you KNOW you have in Griffin is a viable starter at the quarterback position. Which we've had in plenty of other years from Grossman to McNabb, Campbell, Brunell, Johnson, etc.
