I am not sure that there is a single answer to your question. Some say that yeah he had a good career, but he didn't "shine" if you willl, when the Redskins played in there Super Bowls. Others say that while he was good, he wasnt spectaular. Last year I think that is was either Peter King or that Dr. Z guy that made up the excuse that alphabetically "M" is after "I" refering to Michale Irving being selected ahead of Art Monk. Which by the way is a bunch of bullsh*t!!! Irving is a punk and he makes me want to puke when I think of him!!!! God, How I hate him!!!
I almost forgot, those who vote on HOF also are kinda upset with Monk because he was not what you would call media friendly. Not to say that he bad mouthed the media, but he would rarly give interviews. Which to me isnt really that big of a deal. The guy just wanted to play football and go home... How humble!!!
