The opponents are determined for the next season at the conclusion of the regular season, there isn't any picking and choosing about who to play like in college football. Only the schedule order is determined by the NFL.
16 games total.
6 divisional games.
4 games against out of conference division (for us this would be the AFC North)
4 games against in conference division (this year NFC South)
2 games against 2 in conference teams determined by our order of finish last year (we finished 4th in division last year, so we play the 4th place teams from NFC North & NFC West aka Vikings and Rams)
Which means the total teams we play this year are Cowboys, Eagles, Giants twice, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Browns once, Panthers, Saints, Bucs, Falcons once, and Vikings and Rams once. This was determined at the conclusion of last regular season.
