Re: Justin Combs - $54K Scolarship

If he truly earned it, then I'm for him keeping his scholarship he earned and it's something he should be proud of.

THAT said, lets stop and think about this for a second. Justin Combs was a 2 star recruit from New York. NEW YORK is on the east coast last time I check and way out of the recruiting trail for a west coast team like UCLA.

SO ask yourself this. Why would a team like UCLA travel the country to pick out a 2 star athlete from the side of the country they don't recruit from.

Official Football Roster - UCLA Official Athletic Site

Look at that roster and where they are from. There are just a few from the East Coast and lets pull their profile.

Brandon Willis - 4 star recruit transfer from UNC
Damien Thigpen - 4 star recruit out of VA
Aramide Olaniyan - 4 star recruit out of VA/MD
Mike Fafaul - Walk on (no scholarship) from MD

So in the end, I do not believe he earned it off his play. I believe scumbag Rick Neuheisel and the UCLA administration saw $$ with this kid knowing that the rich rapper daddy would become a booster and more than pay that $54,000 back and then some. The fact that daddy Combs lives in the area is no coincidence either. It would be nice if some reporter did his research and then scolded UCLA on the evidence. Hell, it took me all of 5 minutes to see that UCLA doesn't recruit east coast unless it's for a high profile type of player. They can get 2 star recruits all day long from their own backyard, no need to go all the way to NY for one.
