I think yesterday was the type of day I like to see from Griffin on the ground. While he was hit hard on the final drive, it wasn't a devastating hit because he was able to brace for it; it's much different when his body is outstretched giving a pitch on the option or extending his arms over the goal line, which exposes his ribs for truly painful shots.
We can never eliminate the hits he's going to take. His legs are what separate him from other star passers, and what makes it so defenses cannot fully contain this offense; we do not want to take that away. What we do want is to eliminate hits where his body is badly exposed. I think he did a good job of limiting those yesterday. More games like that, less like Cincy from now on.
