The point is that most all records become antiquated at some point. You could walk through the hall of fame and through about 90% of them out with that kind of thinking and its probably more like 98%.

Good point, Monk's record and achievements should speak for themselves, but instead the HOF voters would rather come up with excuse after excuse to downplay what he did.
