Shanahan's evaluation of talent can also be questioned in his decision making as HC like releasing Terrance Austin and keeping Aldrick Robinson. Gibbs wasn't completely out of the equation in the scouting process back in those days, so give him a little credit there. You've mentioned Terrance Austin. What team is he starting for now? I suppose you're not going to give Shanahan any credit for Albert Morris? You would agree that Shanahan made the right decision in starting Fred Davis, finding guys like Pierre Garçon and Josh Morgan? I personally think Mike and Bruce have done a pretty good job in finding talent for the offense.
