From all that I am seeing, this is not a "let's put in a couple stitches, wait a couple weeks and ta daaa" operation. It's a "we're going to try some screws, a cadaver ligament and hot glue, keep you off your feet for 3 months, in a boot for three more and then pray that (1) it all holds together and (2) we didn't hit the nerve cluster right above the big toe which could create incredible pain and loss of movement" kind of surgery.
Based on my experience and from what I have seen, this is essentially lis franc type injury (torn ligament attached to metatarsil) except that it is on the bottom of the foot as opposed to on the topside.
