Finally a topic me and Goat have similar memories of.
QB: Gotta be RG3 (kinda sad, he's only played half a season and yet I feel he's the best qb I've ever seen in a Redskins uni.)
RB: Portis
FB: Mike Sellers
WR1: Santana Moss
WR2: hard one to fill, so I will say Laverneus Coles, even though he wasn't a 2nd wideout during his short time here.
TE: Cooley
LT: Chris Samuels. I felt he was long underrated when it came to being in the conversation with guys like Orlando Pace and Walter Jones. And as fans we took him for granted. It's a shame he spent his whole career blocking for bad-to-average qb's.
LG: And here's where it starts to get fuzzy. I'll say Derrick Dockery.
C: Casey Rabach, before he started to suck. I think we kept him a couple seasons too long, but when we first got him from the Ravens I thought he was solid.
RG: Gotta be Randy Thomas, he was one of my favorite linemen for the Skins throughout his tenure. Shame that injuries took their toll on him.
RT: Jon Jansen. I thought we had really solid tackles when him and Chris were healthy.
(Not sure if I want to go a 4-3 in honor of the scheme we played for most of the last decade, but I'll figure something out.)
DE: Andre Carter (4-3 version). Really the only guy that panned out from our 2006 free agent class.
DT: Cornie Griffin. A very solid underrated player for us during the Gibbs 2nd era.
DT: Joe Salave'a, because I have a soft spot for Samoans.
DE: Brian Orakpo (2009 version). Really the only year he played most of the time with his hand in the dirt, and I loved what he did that year in his rookie season. If we do ever go back to a 4-3 I'd love to see him at defensive end again.
OLB: Lavar Arrington. Sure he left under bad terms, but when he was here and healthy and not fighting Dan Snyder over bonuses, he was my favorite player (we have the same birthday!). His was the first jersey I ever owned.
MLB: Gotta be Fletch. In my top 5 Redskins of all time, because he's been the only player who plays every week consistently, except for this year where it looks like his age is catching up with him. Again, a shame he spent his time with us with a subpar team around him, except for 07.
OLB: Marcus Washington. I wonder if he still has braces lol. I loved the energy he brought to the game, and he was another solid free agent pickup that nobody cares to talk about.
CB: Champ. I wished things had ended differently.
CB: Shawn Springs. When healthy I loved his play.
FS: Can it be no other? Favorite Redskin, hands down. R.I.P. Don't even need to say his name.
SS: I honestly had a tough decision here, which some might think is crazy. I'm going to say Ryan Clark but I do feel Laron Landry's first half of the 2007 season was one of the finest I've seen by a strong safety. I thought we were set for years after the first half of 2007. And ever since then our safety situation as a whole has been really shitty. It's a shame.
K: John Hall? I thought he was solid when healthy. We have had a large quantity of kickers, but definitely not a solid group of candidates.
P: Sav Rocca. Up until his injury this year, he's been more than solid. Before him Tom Tupa was the last punter I really remember being solid.
KR/PR: I will say Moss for the pr, because I think he has more punt return touchdowns than Brandon Banks, even though Banks has had a ton called back because of penalties. KR I'll go with Antonio Brown? He returned a kickoff for a touchdown against the Cardinals that won the game for us a few years ago. Sad that even though Banks is more electrifying than both of them, he still doesn't have more return touchdowns than them. At least not that I remember, I might be wrong on that.
LS: Should I say long snapper, or do I call this spot The Red Snapper? I loved
this letter he wrote to John Madden regarding his Madden rating. Note: Ethan Albright did not really write that letter, in case people can't actually figure that out from the language lol. Another note: That language is definitely NSFW. Annnnnnd now that I've wasted a lot of time on this, here you go.
