It's one thing if you miss assignments on blitzes, because that's a mental error and can be corrected. But if you're just getting physically beaten by your man, then there's a problem.
Very well said.. I think taking anything from a scrimmage is simply ridiculous. Teams don't scheme for a scrimmage (except Spurrier) so the fact that they got beaten on a 4-6 look with blitzes from everywhere doesn't concern me. If they were getting beaten on a straight 4-3 look with a 4 man rush and giving up 4 sacks that would be something to at least address but I'd fall way short of drawing conclusions from it. Let's wait until September at least before addressing strengths and weaknesses.
