Have to say i agree with you on pretty much everything you said. I have to say, my friends who are fans of other NFC-East teams have been much more gracious. One of my Eagles friends told me he was rooting for us during the playoffs because he likes RGIII (the mere fact that he's doing this means he's not really an Eagles fan, and i'm working on converting him. His wife is 4 months pregnant with their first child, and i've already sent him a picture of his baby shower gift - a redskins "onesie." for his son/daughter.) Anyway, we were texting the entire game and he was very consilatory when RGIII left the game. I have another friend from Long Island who is a Giants fan, and he was also sympathetic. On principle alone, i'm not friends with people who are Cowboys fans.
Anyway, i have to say I am actually pleasantly surprised with how little flakk Shanahn is taking in the media. Aside from the usual local media suspects who like to stir up controversy, most pundits agree with Shanahan's decision to do what he did and/or simply say they understand the decision and its not their place to question it.
The playcalling was a major question for me, but that was Kyle's doing. By far, i think this was the most questionable game he's called this year. Still, when you re-watch the game, the playcalls seemed to be good ones - players just werent executing. Robert was not accurate throwing, and when he did throw a catchable ball, his receivers dropped passes. That said, when it was obvious robert couldnt throw as accurately as normal, Kyle should have adjusted to call more running plays. You simply cannot stop Alfred Morris, no matter how good your run defense is.
