Re: Game Day Experience ?
I think it comes down to what game you go to. I went to the Bengals, Giants, and Seahawks games this year. The Bengals game was cool just because it was the home opener but honestly I would probably rather have just stayed home. On the other for the Giants game I can't imagine sitting on my couch rather than being in the stands. Walking out of there knowing your team just did something special and you were there to witness it live is amazing. Same with the Seahawks game. Sure the result was not a good one but I loved being in the stands for our first home playoff game in over a decade, and I definitely like seeing Seattle get that delay of game penalty when they were on my side of the field and feeling like I contributed to that.
The feeling you get when you can yell at the top of your lungs and actually feel like you're doing something to benefit your team is also amazing. That doesn't happen when you yell at your tv.
With all that said it's a bit of a conflicting feeling every time I'm going to a game. I obviously miss the comfort of being at home and being able to watch football right before/after, and not paying ridiculous prices for subpar food and drink. At the same time though, those special Redskins moments are that much more special when you get to witness them in the stadium with your fellow Skins fans.
Gaintone, if I'm going to make a suggestion, I say take your grandson to a game or two. You cant avoid the drunks completely, and you definitely cant avoid the cursing but it's not as bad as some make it out to be. Especially if you sit in lower lever seats. The gameday experience is definitely something worth experiencing.
