Now Griffin has been named the Rookie of the Year by The Sporting News. That award is made based on the votes of some 800 NFL players, coaches, and executives. Griffin got 363 votes, easily beating out quarterbacks Andrew Luck of the Colts (213) and Russell Wilson of the Seahawks (124).
“Simply put, Griffin returned legitimate hope for a championship to the Redskins,” TSN said in announcing the award. “He led them to a division title for the first time since 1999 and created a buzz throughout Washington and the NFL. He put fear in opponents, who knew facing Griffin was like facing lightning ready to strike.”
The rookie of the year award that the NFL has deemed to be “official”, the one determined by a panel of 50 voters selected by the Associated Press, will be announced during an awards show the night before the Super Bowl.

Thanks. It all had me confused. That is good news cause I had bet $50 at 6 to 1 before the season started that he would win. That whole social vote thing had me worried! Anyways, I will still continue to vote for Pepsi ROY just because I think he deserves it (although it would be nice to see Morris get a little recongnition after his monster ProBowl snub)
