When it comes to tight-ends Gibbs has always pretty much used role-players. Such as Don Warren, Clint Didier, and Doc Walker, and a few others. None of these were Pro-Bowlers, but they were undoubtedly very important to the running game as well as the pass blocking.

My point is, what a tight-end means to San Diego or KC may mean nothing to us, especially when it comes to looking at stats. Our tight-ends/H-backs have never been big in stats but big in grit and intangibles and that's one thing the media never really looks at IMO.
