I call double bull shit. You would say that living in D.C. But with all due respect, SIR, as someone who is a native Richmonder their whole life I'd call you a wack-job for saying Richmonders are luke-warm to a football team. The problem is the city of Richmond is not large enough population-wise to sustain a major NFL franchise. That DOES NOT mean we don't want one. Richmond is an avid Redskins hub. I think it is great that the Skins are expanding into Virginia. Making events more accessible to the rest of Virginia is only going to help grow the fan base and brand.

It's time for Virginia to stake claim to the Skins.
Why not rename them the Virginia Redskins as well?

Having called BS on 12th Man, I must also say I don't think renaming the Redskins the Virginia Redskins will ever happen. Washington born (via way of Boston), Washington bred, it'll be Washington Redskins 'til long after we're dead. Even if the new stadium is in NOVA the name won't change. They didn't change the name to the Maryland Redskins when Fed Ex Field was built in Landover, Maryland.
