TL;DR: Insurance companies don't want to do business with the NFL (and even leagues as small as Pop Warner) as they are scared about losing money, so if/when the NFL dies it will be because nobody wants to provide insurance for NFL players.

This is a serious issue. I coach Pop Warner with USA Football and they have been talking about this for a couple years.
